UNMOULDED
Rhythmic and colourful, these necklaces are made out of hundreds of small porcelain elements, strung together by steel rings, making them look like a kind of chain mail. The necklaces are light in weight and mould in a supple manner to the body. But do they protect, like chain mail would?
The title of the collection -Unmoulded- literally refers to the print and casting mould used to make the ceramic elements, but also represents idiosyncrasy and inconstancy. The sheep, whether or not he follows the flock, is a recurring metaphor in this collection. A series that followed after travels through Ireland, with its strong Catholic past and present.
